One of the other intensions of the trip to Treviso was to participate in La Pinarello Grande Fondo which was on July 17th. There is a 120 mile and 75 mile race. We actually participated in the Gourmet Fondo which was basically a 25 mile cruise around Treviso with multiple stops for food and beverage. Also included in this gallery will be numerous pics from around Treviso, the Pinarello retail stores and more.
There were approximately 400 people invited to Treviso by Pinarello for La Pinarello and the 2012 Pinarello showing. For those of us who did the Gourmet we recieved Trevisos to ride. Anyone doing the Longo or Medio Grande Fondo received 2012 Dogma 2's with Super Record or Di2 to ride for a couple of days. The day before the fondos was a group ride to break in all the new Dogma 2's.

I am sure this has been the same picture for decades. The Founder and Father, Giovanni Pinarello, greeting customers and friends outside of The Pinarello retail store.

There were a total of 3 seperate buildings of Pinarello Stores. The main one was a clothing only. Then out the back door and down the street a couple of doors was the road bikes and service department in one small building and other bikes and various retail in a building across the street.

This store had a smorgasbord of bikes and incredible memorabilia.

What Kid wouldn't want a Pinarello kids bike?

The places we dined were amazing and the meals were incredible. This particular dinner had a vineyard behind this courtyard where we dined. While all the meals were spectacular the dinner this night was probably one of the best I have ever had. The main course was apparently  slow cooked chicken and pork over and wood fired open rotisserie oven.

Sunday July 17, 2011 was La Pinarello

There were thousands of people that started the La Pinarello Medio and Longo Fondos. I am working on getting the video of the start which is more than 6 minutes of started racers posted on youtube

While i was a little jealous of the longer fondo riders and their Dogma 2's i assure you they weren't getting these kind of snacks from their domestiques.

The view from the beer tent at La Pinarello was the same for all riders of all Fondos. With the beer taps within arms reach and by far the coldest beers and drinks we had our entire trip this was the place to be.

Nothing but congratulations were in order for those that finished the Longo Fondo which sounded more like a 120 mile death march

Our final meal was no disappointment and was much of a celebration. Our time in Treviso was fantastic and we met some great new friends. Thanks again to the Pinarello Family for the hospitality and generosity!
